Cookie Policy
The short version
Until you accept, this site stores one thing on your device: a record of the answer you gave the cookie banner. Nothing else is set, nothing is loaded from an advertising network, and no third party is told you were here.
If you accept analytics, we add Google Analytics, which sets two cookies. That is the entire list.

Strictly necessary items like this do not need consent - without it we would have to show you the banner on every page you opened. It holds nothing about you, only whether you accepted or rejected and when, and it is never sent to us.

IP anonymisation is switched on, so Google shortens your IP address before storing it. We do not use Google Analytics for advertising, remarketing or audience building, and it is not linked to any advertising account.
If you reject, or never answer, the Google Analytics script is never fetched. It is not loaded and then disabled - the request is never made.
What we do not use
No advertising cookies. No social media pixels - the Facebook pixel that ran on our previous website has been removed and is not coming back. No cross-site tracking. No fingerprinting. Our fonts are served from this site rather than from Google Fonts, so simply opening a page tells Google nothing.
Changing your mind
Use the Cookie settings link at the bottom of any page. It shows you the choice you made last time and lets you change it.
If you reject after having accepted, analytics stops immediately and the cookies Google has already set are deleted. You do not need to reload the page and you do not need to clear anything yourself.
You can also clear cookies and site data in your browser's own settings. That removes everything, including your saved answer, so the banner will appear again on your next visit.
Other companies' cookies
Some pages link out to other companies. We do not control what they set, and their cookies are covered by their policies rather than this one.
- Google Maps - only if you click a directions link. We do not embed maps, so nothing loads from Google Maps unless you choose to go there.
